WPL 2026 Final: Which Team Will Face off RCB in the Title Clash?

Gujarat Giants (GG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) emerge as the strongest contenders to compete against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 final.

RCB officially became the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Following an 8-wicket triumph over the UP Warriorz, the Smriti Mandhana-led side has now earned a direct qualification to the final.

With the fourth season’s league stages nearing their conclusion, let’s predict which team will face off against RCB in the WPL 2026 final.

Contenders to Face RCB in WPL 2026 Final

With Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, and UP Warriorz still alive in playoff contention, let’s take a look at their WPL 2026 final qualification chances:

1. Mumbai Indians (MI): 70% Qualification Chance

The defending champions currently rank third in the WPL 2026 points table behind the Gujarat Giants.

With 6 points and a positive NRR of +0.146, the Mumbai Indians are now in a must-win situation in their last league-stage match against Gujarat to secure qualification to the Eliminator.

Analyzing the head-to-head records, MI never lost a single game to GG in the WPL history out of 8 matches played so far. This bolsters their qualification chances not only into the playoffs but also for the WPL 2026 final as well.

Comparing the previous seasons, MI have won 2 out of 3 matches in the Eliminator round, with their only loss coming against RCB back in the 2024 edition.

2. Gujarat Giants (GG): 30% Qualification Chance

Currently ranked in the second position of the WPL 2026 points table with 8 points and -0.271 NRR, the Gujarat Giants are inching closer to a playoff spot.

Giants under Ashleigh Gardner’s captaincy have shown flashes of brilliance rather than consistent domination.

A victory in their last league stage match against the Mumbai Indians would guarantee a spot in the Eliminator round.

Although the Giants boast a strong batting line-up to enhance their WPL 2026 final qualification chances, their bowling unit has been a main concern.

However, GG’s record in the Eliminator round has been dismal, with the previous season’s clash ending in a heartbreaking defeat against MI.

Assuming Gujarat qualifies for the Eliminator, all they need is to adopt a fearless approach to face off against RCB in the final and clinch their maiden WPL title.

3. Delhi Capitals (DC): Slim Chances of Qualification

For the first time since the inaugural edition in 2023, Delhi Capitals didn’t earn a direct qualification into the WPL final.

With 6 points and -0.164 NRR, Delhi is currently ranked fourth in the points table behind Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians.

Even if Jemimah Rodrigues and her team manage to win their last league stage clash against UP Warriorz, they should hope that eitherthe  Gujarat Giants or the  Mumbai Indians lose by a huge margin to qualify for the Eliminator Round.

Having concluded as the 3-time runner-up, it remains to be seen if the Delhi Capitals manage to qualify for the WPL final for the fourth consecutive time.

UP Warriorz WPL 2026 Final Hopes Alive After Defeat to RCB?

Following a massive 8-wicket defeat to RCB, UP Warriorz ‘ dream to secure a spot in the  WPL 2026 final is now in jeopardy.

Having played 7 matches, the Meg Lanning-led side managed to secure only 2 wins out of 7 matches. With 4 points and -1.146 NRR, UP now requires a victory against Delhi by a huge margin.

At the same time, the finalists of the WPL 2024 should hope for the Mumbai Indians to face a heavy defeat to the Gujarat Titans to qualify for the Eliminator. However, a poor net-run-rate paves elimination for the Warriorz.

RCB’s Direct Entry into WPL 2026 Final

The first half of WPL 2026 has been the strongest ever for RCB, having won five consecutive matches.

Despite the back-to-back losses against the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, the former champions maintained an impressive net-run-rate (NRR).

Royal Challengers crushed UP Warriorz by 8 wickets by comfortably chasing down 144. Thanks to Grace Harris’s 75-run knock off 37 balls (including 13 fours and 2 sixes) and Smriti Mandhana’s unbeaten 54 runs off 27 balls (including 8 fours and 2 sixes).

However, it was Nadine de Klerk’s 4-fer (4/22 in 4 overs) that restricted Warriorz below a competitive total.

Having won 6 out of 8 games, RCB finished the league stages as the table toppers with 12 points and +0.947 NRR.

Bengaluru is likely to clinch the WPL trophy for the second time under Smriti’s captaincy, given the powerful bowling attack to restrict the opponents to a modest total.

WPL 2026 Final Qualification Procedure

Like the previous WPL editions, the table toppers will directly secure a berth in the final. While the teams placed in the second and third spots of the points table will compete in the Eliminator round.

The epic title clash scheduled on February 05 (Thursday) at the BCA Stadium in Kotambri will feature the winner of the Eliminator round competing against the table toppers.

Overall Prediction: Team to Face off RCB in WPL 2026 Final?

Once again Mumbai Indians emerge as the favorites to face off the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the WPL 2026 final, given their strong records in the Eliminator round.

With their last league stage match remaining against Gujarat Giants, the defending champions’ entry into the playoffs seems to be guaranteed, given their unbeaten track record (8-0) against the same opponents.

So, it is likely that the two heavyweights— Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru could compete for the highly coveted WPL 2026 trophy.
