During the Eliminator round of IPL 2024 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on 22nd May (Tuesday), Virat Kohli achieved an exceptional milestone at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

In fact, none of the batters have even managed to reach 7000 runs in their IPL career. Even Shikhar Dhawan with 6,769 runs ranks behind Virat Kohli with a huge difference in the list of highest run scorers in IPL.

Since Kohli’s debut in IPL 2008, his journey has been admirable, highlighted with outstanding achievements and records in every season.

In the ongoing IPL edition, King Kohli has not only crossed the 8000-run mark but also enjoyed one of his most successful seasons since the memorable IPL 2016, where he accumulated 973 runs in that year. His performance in IPL 2024 has earned him the high-profile orange cap by scoring more than 700 runs.

Virat Kohli: The Orange Cap Winner of IPL 2024

Although RCB once again choked in the playoffs after losing to RR in the eliminator round by 4 wickets, Virat Kohli still remains the orange cap holder. He has a higher chance of becoming the leading run-scorer of the IPL 2024.

In this season, Kohli scored 741 runs in 15 innings with a century and five-half centuries by hitting 62 fours and 38 sixes at a strike rate of 154.70 and an average of 61.75.

Whereas,Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opening batter Travis Head scored just 567 runs in 14 innings and still has one more game to play. In the finals against KKR, Head still needs to score 174 runs or more to become the orange cap winner, and it is completely impossible to surpass Virat Kohli’s leading position in the list of orange cap competitors.
