“ Following the 2023 World Cup, I felt driven to decide my future in international cricket. Throughout my career, I’ve ensured to avoid indecision. Most often I have been open and honest about the decisions taken in my life. I wasn’t in the nation for a long time. So, the meeting with the BCB president Nazmul Hassan was long overdue.

I’ll most likely begin my cricketing career in the BPL. Then you might get a clear notion of what is going on…

I would never like to do this if there was an option for next month. Also, I don’t want to do any unnecessary dragging…

After a detailed discussion with the board, I have made my decision. They told me numerous things and I need to respect them as well.”

Furthermore, Tamim Iqbal added about his participation in the BPL 2024:

“Let’s wait till January 2024 and observe what happens. I wouldn’t do anything purposefully. The present day I was hoping to inform you about my plans. However, after seeking opinions from everyone,  the board president stated that he would sort it out by making difficult decisions. I’ll just wait and observe to see what happens”
