The former opener announced in his latest podcast that he is ready to become the president of the BCB if he is given the chance.

Although he had initially planned to contest in the BCB election, he then chose not to contest because of government interference in Bangladesh’s cricket management. However, his desire to change Bangladesh’s cricket management is very high. And when he was asked if he wanted to become the president of the BCB, he very eagerly said yes to the question.

Tamim Iqbal is very confident that he has everything it takes to become a leader in a cricket organization. During his announcement, he said that intent matters more than age or experience.

Moreover, reflecting on the last 20 years of BCB management, Tamim Iqbal said that there has been suspicious development in BCB management despite the fact that the management team is comprised of very experienced people.

Tamim states about the change in stakeholders’ mindset!

In addition to this, he requested the stakeholders to change their mindset, stating that it might take some time to believe in the vision of a younger generation instead of having faith in the experienced hands of years.

Further adding to his previous statement, Tamim stated that it is not great only because of experience alone. Moreover, he said that many famous openers who have experience with the national team have been with the national team, but somehow he used to be in the low category only.

Tamim had announced long back that his retirement from cricket would be done, but suddenly, the ODI Cricket World Cup came. And, after receiving high-level assistance, Tamim wanted to change this decision.

In addition to this, Tamim has not played any matches since then. Tamim has initiated a new debate about the future of Bangladesh cricket and his transition from cricket to cricket administration with his announcement to become the president.

Making the point that many people in the cricket world know of his work and involvement, Tamim said,  I think I am capable enough to do the job. I think the intention and purpose are more important than the age and the experience.

If you look closely in the direction of BCB, you will see that there are many people who are either experienced or have been very experienced in their fields, especially after he began saying that the development of cricket in Bangladesh had not been as desired and that for such changes to occur. And, actually, people should try trusting inexperienced and new people for a change.

He went on to say that his ability as an organizer is recognized in the cricketing circle. Conclusion

The Bangladesh Cricket Board may undergo a serious change if Tamim Iqbal decides to make the transition from the field to cricket administration. Tamim, who has represented Bangladesh at the top level for many years, thinks that in order to strengthen the nation’s cricket system, new leadership, a separate vision, and a strong will are necessary.

Tamim’s willingness to accept responsibility itself shows good administrative skills suitable for the position. Also, a larger number of former athletes are taking on administrative positions, which may gradually affect the sport.

However, Tamim’s remarks have already sparked conversations, and that has increased the need for fresh ideas in Bangladeshi cricket governance. And that too, even though there was no official decision made regarding the BCB presidency.

As a result, only the former captain holds the power to change the next stage of the nation’s cricket development, and that too if a chance is given to do so!
