Sidhu — IPL Will Never Be Same After Virat & Dhoni’s Retirement

Looks like CSK’s legendary former captain, MS Dhoni, is up for his retirement. He had a tough time with his knee injury. Still, he led the defending champion team, Chennai Super Kings. Unfortunately, Bengaluru knocked them! And CSK couldn’t make it to the playoffs. A tough break for the five-time champs!

After the last league match, Dhoni seemed very disappointed for CSK. On the other hand, Virat feels shocked about not making it to Qualifier 2.

Navjot Singh Sidhu about Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni Retirement

Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu spoke on the Star Sports channel. He said IPL is not going to be the same after MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli leave. Which meant about the nearing retirement! And, Dhoni’s Retirement is putting all MSD fans in confusion. Was this league the last playing of Dhoni?

Although, Sidhu was 100% right! But it is very sad for the mutual fans of these 2 great cricketers.

Sidhu was saying,

“MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are like the lifelines and pillars of the Indian Premier League. After they leave, we will not see IPL like how it is now”.

He further added that

“These 2 legendary cricketers made us love this T20 league. So, it is our honour and luck to see MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli playing in this league”.

Dhoni Influences Fans and BCCI too!

MS Dhoni not just influenced millions of fans but also the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India). He plays a main role in selecting the next Indian Team head coach. We know that CSK (Chennai Super Kings) is out of the IPL 2024. Now, the BCCI is ready to ask for Dhoni’s help. They want Dhoni to convince the 5-times champion team CSK’s head coach Stephen Fleming.

According to sources, the Indian Cricket Board first chose Stephen Fleming, but he could not commit till 2027. This former New Zealand captain has been head coach of CSK since 2008. And, he is happy with his short service in many T20 leagues all over the world.

Fleming is the head coach for TSK (Texas Super Kings) in Major League Cricket, USA. Also, he heads JSK (Joburg Super Kings) in SA20, South Africa. And, he is the head coach of the Southern Brave in ‘The Hundred’.

No matter what! Even if Dhoni is nearing his retirement, his influence is stronger. This shows he is a great, valuable asset to the nation and the BCCI.
