India’s leg-break spinner Yuzvendra Chahal‘s rumored girlfriend, RJ Mahvash, recently took to her social media handle to reveal an interesting and shocking story.
In her heartfelt post on Instagram, she congratulated Punjab Kings for their outstanding performance throughout the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 and further disclosed the unknown fact that Chahal participated in the tournament despite suffering from three fractures.
Popularly known as the Radio Jockey and a famous social media content creator, RJ Mahvash was spotted with the Punjab Kings camp multiple times throughout the IPL 2025 season.
Although RF Mahvash and Chahal brushed aside the rumors of being in a relationship, fans continue to speculate as the duo has frequently been spotted together, particularly in ICC Champions Trophy 2025 where India won the tournament in Dubai.
‘He Fractured his finger in the 2nd Match of the Season’: RJ Mahvash Reveals Chahal’s Injury!
RJ Mahvash, through her Instagram post, disclosed that the Punjab Kings spin bowler Chahal sustained a fracture in his rib in the tournament’s second match and continued to play the entire IPL with three fractures:
“Congrats! They (Punjab Kings) gave a tough fight, stayed and played till the tournament’s last match. Also, most of you might not be aware of the fact that Yuzvendra Chahal fractured his ribs in the second match itself, and suffered a fracture on his bowling finger later.
However, the spin bowler gave his best performance throughout the season with 3 fractures. We might have watched him screaming and crying out in pain. But it is a fact that he was never seen giving up. I mean to say you are such a great warrior with a true spirit.
Till the last ball, the team kept fighting. It has been a great moment for me to be a supporter of the team this season. All the people in the pictures are very special. Eager to see you all next year.
Also, my hearty congratulations to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for winning the IPL title. Every player in the squad invested their efforts and worked hard. This tournament was a true festival for all Indians,” Mahvash wrote on Instagram.
From the above statement, it is understood that Chahal sustained an injury in the Punjab Kings’ second match of the IPL 2025 against Lucknow Super Giants on April 01.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s Performance in IPL 2025
Despite facing multiple fractures, Yuzvendra Chahal was the most consistent spin bowler for the Punjab Kings. Also, he concluded the season as the joint ninth-highest wicket-taker. The 34-year-old bagged 16 wickets in 13 innings at an average of 26.87 and an economy of 9.55, and here is how the Punjab Kings spinner performed against these opponents:
| Opponent Team | Bowling Figures | Economy | PBKS Match Outcome |
| Gujarat Titans | 0/34 (3 overs) | 11.30 | Won by 11 Runs |
| Lucknow Super Giants | 1/36 (4 overs) | 9.00 | Won by 8 Wickets |
| Rajasthan Royals | 0/32 (3 overs) | 10.70 | Lost by 50 Runs |
| Chennai Super Kings | 0/9 (1 over) | 9.00 | Won by 18 Runs |
| Sunrisers Hyderabad | 1/56 (4 overs) | 14.00 | Lost by 8 Wickets |
| Kolkata Knight Riders | 4/28 (4 overs) | 7.00 | Won by 16 Runs |
| Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 2/11 (3 overs) | 3.70 | Won by 5 Wickets |
| Royal Challengers Bengaluru | 1/36 (4 overs) | 9.00 | Lost by 7 Wickets |
| Chennai Super Kings | 4/32 (4 overs) | 10.70 | Won by 4 Wickets |
| Lucknow Super Giants | 1/50 (4 overs) | 12.50 | Won by 37 Runs |
| Rajasthan Royals | 0/30 (4 overs) | 7.50 | Won by 10 Runs |
| Mumbai Indians (Qualifier 2) | 1/39 (4 overs) | 9.80 | Won by 5 Wickets |
| Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Final) | 1/37 (4 overs) | 9.20 | Lost by 6 Runs |
Chahal was the only reliable spinner and the third leading wicket-taker for the Punjab Kings after these pace bowlers, namely Arshdeep Singh (21 wickets) and Marco Jansen (16 wickets).
Considering the spin bowling line-up of PBKS, Chahal topped the charts with 16 wickets compared to other spinners in the squad, such as Harpreet Brar (10 wickets), Glenn Maxwell (4 wickets), and Praveen Dubey (1 wicket). In other words, the weaknesses in PBKS’ spin bowling attack are evident without Yuzi.

Final Opinion
The above stats outline Chahal’s severe injury as he was wicketless in four innings against Gujarat Titans (1), Rajasthan Royals (2), and Chennai Super Kings (1).
However, his standout performances of 4/28 against the Kolkata Knight Riders and 4/32 against the Chennai Super Kings helped his team secure a convincing victory.
Due to multiple fractures, Yuzi missed three crucial matches for his team in the conclusion of the season against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians (both in league stages), and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (in Qualifier 1). Later, he managed to return and participated for his team in Qualifier 2 and the final.
Unfortunately, Yuzvendra Chahal faced his third defeat in the IPL final, representing three different franchises. The first IPL final he lost was in 2016 when he represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru, where the current champions faced a heartbreaking loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad. And the second was in 2022 when he switched to the Rajasthan Royals but lost to the Gujarat Titans in the final.
Despite severe fractures, Chahal never gave up and once again tried his luck to win an IPL trophy with Punjab Kings under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy. Even after giving his best efforts, his dream remains unfulfilled as his team lost by just 6 runs.
