IPL 2025 Retention: Retained Players List & Purse Remaining of all IPL Teams

The Indian Premier League IPL 2025 retentions include 46 players retained by all ten franchises for INR 558.5 crores. However, there are a few twists in the story you need to know. Three captains Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul will be entering the IPL 2025 mega auction after being released by their teams Delhi Capitals (DC), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).  

Also, the uncapped player rule has provided flexibility for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise to retain former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni under this category for just INR 4 crores.

The five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) have opted to retain five capped star Indian cricketers thereby releasing all the overseas players from the squad.

Whereas, Punjab Kings (PBKS) with a remaining purse of INR 110.5 crores and 2 retentions, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with INR 83 crores and 3 retentions have released their captains along with core players to start from scratch.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) after making use of their quota to retain six players are left with a purse of INR 41 crores. On the other side, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are left with 1 Right to Match (RTM) card option after retaining five players.
