

With seven franchises previously accepted by the BPL Governing Council, the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2023) will begin in January of next year.
This time around, the pay for local and foreign cricketers will be the same. The highest tier of local cricketers would receive BDT 80 lakhs. The foreign cricketers will get a maximum of USD 80,000 (BDT 83 lakhs).
The BPL Governing Council’s Secretary Member Ismail Haider Mallick and Chairman Sheikh Sohail gave this idea to the press today. Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet are the three venues for the BPL 2023. There will be a total of 46 matches.
However, a cricketer can get into the team on a direct contract. Apart from this, franchises must buy cricketers from players’ drafts under the 7 class.
BPL 2023 Team Review
The Bangladesh Premier League’s ninth edition will take place from January 5 to February 16, 2023. The identical draught took place on November 23, 2022. Tamim Iqbal, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Nurul Hasan will each join new teams, the Khulna Tigers, Sylhet Strikers, and Rangpur Riders. Whereas Shakib Al Hasan (Fortune Barishal), and Mustafizur Rahman (Comilla Victorians), will continue to play for their previous teams.
There will be 34 BPL T20 matches in the BPL 2023. The final will be held in Bangladesh in January and February of that year. The Bangladesh Premier League, 2023 edition final match will take place on February 17, 2023.
BPL 2023 Players List
Chattogram Challengers
There are 16 players in the Chattogram Challengers squad, including five foreign players. The team expects Afif Hussian, one of its star players, to give his best effort.
Comilla Victorians
Three times BPL champions Comilla Victorians have spent a large amount of money this season on players such as Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Nabi, and Mostafizur Rahman. There are 19 players on their team, including 7 foreign players.
Dhaka Dominators
Dhaka Dominators bought 22 players, including three foreign players. As a result of their recent Asia Cup and World Cup performances, Taskin, Chamika Karunaratne, and Dilshan Munaweera were signed directly.
Khulna Tigers
Khulna Titans haven’t won a tournament since registering in 2012. This year’s team includes 11 Bangladeshis and 6 foreigners. Tamim Iqbal is the captain of the Khulna Tigers.
Fortune Barishal
Despite not having won a BPL cup yet, Fortune Barishal seems determined to win one in 2023. With Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad, they have created a team with a mix of experienced and young players.
Rangpur Riders
Rangpur Raiders won the 5th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League by defeating Dhaka Dynamites in the final. The team has emphasized foreign players and middle-range Bangladeshi players. Nineteen players have been bought, including seven foreigners.
Sylhet Strikers
Founded in 2012, this franchise has changed its name 7 times in the last 10 years and will be called Sylhet Strikers in the 2023-2025 season. Mashrafe bin Mortaza is now the new captain of the 20-man squad. The majority of their money has been spent on foreign players, however.
BPL 2023 Contracts and Payments
The highest and lowest classes are “A” and “G,” respectively. The maximum payment is Tk 80 lakh, and the minimum price is Tk 5 lakh. “A” category cricket players from abroad will receive $80,000.
Cricketers in the “A” grade would be rewarded Tk 80 lakh. The “B” grade will receive Tk 50 lakh. Players from grade “C” will get Tk 30 lakh. The players from grade “D” will receive Tk 20 lakh, while players from grade “E” to get Tk 15 lakh.
The “F” grade players will get Tk 10 lakh, while those from grade “G” will receive Tk 5 lakh. The BPL Secretary Member stated the following on the cricket players’ salary: “For the local players, we will keep a maximum of BDT 80 lakhs.
The players and the franchise will make the decision. For foreigners, $80,000 is required. Seven payment grades—80 lakhs, 50 lakhs, 30 lakhs, 20 lakhs, 15 lakhs, 10 lakhs, and 5 lakhs—will be available. Additionally, icons don’t exist.
Teams can choose cricketers from seven classes in the player’s draught. As in previous seasons, each squad will field only four foreign players. At least two foreign players will play in the starting XI, according to the BPL Governing Council.
