
Bangladesh has released the squad for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe. The Bangla Tigers are on their high lately and have managed to defeat Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series and then go on to beat them in the ODI series too, taking it 2-1, and then beat Australia in the ODI series at home for the first time ever in their history.
However, Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s team lost the T20I series against the Aussies, but they will be looking forward to making a comeback now. Before the Zimbabwe ODI games, Litton Kumar Das made himself available for selection despite the calf injury he sustained recently. The experienced batsman will miss the Test series and T20I series, but according to the reports from Cricbuzz, Litton Das is ready for the 50-over game.
Mehidy Hasan Captains the Team while Najmul is Vice-Captain
As predicted, Mehidy Hasan Miraz will continue to captain the team, whereas Najmul Hossain Shanto has been announced as vice-captain. Litton Das, who was absent from the test due to injury worries, is part of the ODI team list.
Three ODI matches against Zimbabwe will be held on July 6, July 9, and July 11 respectively. All these matches will be hosted at the Harare Sports Club, and all these matches will start at 1:30 pm Bangladesh time.

Habibul Bashar about Litton Das’ comeback to ODI squad
The batter-wicket-keeper got the injury during the ODI series against Australia in Dhaka and therefore was not available for the T20I series against Bangladesh, as Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan filled his place in the Test team. There were problems with the availability of Litton Das, but now he has come back into action and is likely to be ready for playing the matches.
“He is very much back. Our physio thinks he will be ready before the ODIs because he is a very important player of all our formats,” said Habibul Bashar, chief selector of BCB to Cricbuzz on Thursday. However, Litton Das and pacer Taskin Ahmed have been provided NOCs by BCB to participate in the Lanka Premier League (LPL).
28th June to 2nd July Bangladesh seeks to achieve yet another landmark
The first-ever Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will be played from June 28 to July 2 at the historic venue of the Harare Sports Club. Once the game in the longer version comes to an end, focus will turn to the shorter form of cricket. All three ODIs will be held at the Harare Sports Club.
T20Is are to be played on July 6, 9, and 11 and all of them would take place at the Harare Sports Club. All the matches are expected to begin at 1:30 PM Bangladesh Standard Time. According to BCB, the first group of Test team members will be leaving Dhaka on June 21 and some other members will join the tour team later.

Najmul Hossain Shanto would lead the T20I team
In the absence of Litton Das, who had been the captain of the T20I team till now, Najmul Hossain Shanto is going to lead the team. The following players have been omitted from the main squad: Hasan Mahmud and Soumya Sarkar, while Saifuddin will be back in the squad after being away for one and a half years.

Conclusion on Bangladesh’s unchanged ODI Squad
Nevertheless, wicket-keeper batsman has been excluded from the one-off test that starts on June 28 at the Harare Sports Club. Mahedi Hasan, who had joined the team in place of Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the last ODI match against Australia, did not make it into the squad.
The two players Mossaddek Hossan and Nurul Hasan Sohan, who were brought back into the national team after the Australia series, continued their inclusion. ODI series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe is set to commence on July 6 while the next two matches will be held on July 9 and 11. Tigers will play three T20Is to conclude their month long tour on July 15, 17 and 19. All the matches will be held at Queens Sports Club.
