The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has approved Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhant Addhatrao to participate in the fourth edition of the T20 Mumbai League. The duo of cricketers has represented Pondicherry and the Goa state cricket associations, respectively, in the last season.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun, played for Goa in the past few seasons after parting ways with Mumbai.
The latest sources reveal that neither Arjun nor Siddhant has featured in any state cricket league over the past 12 months.
T20 Mumbai League 2026 Auction and Tournament Date
The fourth season of the T20 Mumbai League auction is set for Saturday (May 02), and the tournament will commence in early June.
As per the announcement made by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), the tournament will once again take place in the Monsoon season. Moreover, the MCA has initiated the inaugural T20 Mumbai Women’s league, opening up a new chapter in women’s domestic cricket.
Notably, the auction for both men’s and women’s tournaments will take place on the same date (May 02).
Eligibility Guidelines For T20 Mumbai League Participation
To participate in the T20 Mumbai league season 04, the BCCI has set certain guidelines to ensure players maintain maximum focus and avoid excess physical strain. To explain in simpler terms, the Indian cricket board is firm with the stance of the “One Player One Official League Participation” concept.
Each player would be eligible to participate in only one officially recognized T20 cricket league in the past 12-month period. In other words, a player’s last participation should have been concluded for 12 months or more. However, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is excluded from this condition.
As per the example suggested by BCCI’s official statement, let’s assume a player participated in a T20 league that concluded on August 31, 2024. In such conditions, they won’t be allowed to participate in any of the 20-over leagues held by other state associations until September 01, 2025.
How Arjun and Siddhant Became Eligible to Play the T20 Mumbai League?
Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhant Addhatrao haven’t featured in any of the state T20 leagues in the past 12 months and were deemed eligible to participate in the T20 Mumbai League. Neither of these cricketers has even played a single game in any of the 20-over leagues in the restricted timeframe.
After fulfilling the regulatory requirements, Tendulkar and Addhatrao are back in Mumbai’s player group rather than the typical selection system.
Arjun, who earlier played for Mumbai, shifted to Goa a few seasons ago and represents the state team. While Addhatrao, who played for Puducherry last year, has now become eligible to play for a new team.
Arjun Tendulkar Aiming For Multiple Opportunities After IPL 2026 Snub
As the fortunes haven’t favored Arjun Tendulkar in IPL, his decision to register for the upcoming T20 Mumbai League auction shows his dedication to seeking opportunities beyond the cash-rich league.
The latest reports reveal that the pace bowler registered himself for the bidding event for a base price worth INR 5 lakh.
So far, Tendulkar hasn’t been given a chance to feature in the playing XI of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026.
Even though the team is struggling at the bottom of the points table with 2 wins and 6 losses, the young speedster’s absence in all eight matches has ignited debate in the cricket world.
However, the 26-year-old has ensured to remain active in the LSG squad despite not featuring in the playing XI. Regardless of his discipline and consistent bowling skills while training hard in the nets, his role was limited to carrying drinks for his teammates during matches.
The forthcoming T20 Mumbai League could serve as a valuable opportunity for Arjun Tendulkar to prove his skills and grab the selectors’ attention to feature in high-profile matches.

Final Opinion
Despite Arjun Tendulkar’s shift to Goa, his presence in the Mumbai-based T20 league adds huge popularity to the tournament. This is because Sachin Tendulkar’s son participating in domestic cricket adds massive familiarity to the contest.
Siddhant Addhatrao has gained immense exposure representing Puducherry in the domestic circuit and re-enters the tournament with high confidence.
The modern cricketing system has developed in such a way that players should fulfill the eligibility rules before seeking big opportunities. Since both players are active in their domestic and franchise cricket careers, their presence adds only choices rather than guaranteed participation.
There are hardly a couple of days left for the player auction to commence. As of now, the focus shifts to how teams build a formidable squad abiding by the rules and regulations.
