10 Most Promising Young Cricketers For The 2022 T20 World Cup

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 kickstarts on 16th October 2022 in Australia. All 16 participating teams have announced their squad for the tournament. Cricket fans will also get to see several top young cricketers representing their nations in the T20 World Cup 2022.

The first match will witness Asia Cup 2022 winners Sri Lanka taking on Namibia in the First Round of the qualifiers.

 Arshdeep Singh (India)

With some strong performances with the ball during the IPL 2022 season, 23-year-old Arshdeep Singh got a call to the Indian squad. Subsequently, he made his T20I debut in England, bowling the first-over maiden.

Again, he was picked for the West Indies tour where he cemented his place with another impressive show with the ball. He was part of the Asia Cup 2022 squad as well. 

Naseem Shah (Pakistan)

16-year-old Naseem made his test debut in 2019 against Australia as a 16-year-old. But, he had to wait for his limited overs debut and consequently made his ODI debut against the Netherlands in August 2022.

In addition, Naseem made his T20I debut in the Asia Cup 2022 against India.

Wanindu Hasaranga (Sri Lanka)

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Afghanistan)

A talented off-spinner who can bat a bit as well, 21-year-old Mujeeb Ur Rahman is one of the young cricketers who has impressed everyone. He made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in 2018. Since then, he has played in different T20 leagues around the world.

He has been a regular member of the Afghan T20I side ever since making his debut. Subsequently, the Afghan team will have high hopes for him for the T20 World Cup 2022.

Harry Brook (England)

England’s 22-year-old young batter Harry Brook has been sensational in the T20 format lately. Brook made his T20I debut against West Indies in 2022 and was impressed with the bat. In addition, Brook was selected for the T20I series in Pakistan and has been England’s top scorer in the series.

Shimron Hetmyer (West Indies)

Hetmyer is another explosive bunch of young cricketers from the West Indies. The left-hand batter has enjoyed massive success in the T20 leagues globally. He made his T20I debut for West Indies against New Zealand in 2017 and has been a consistent figure in the T20I setup.

Mosaddek Hossain (Bangladesh)

Another bunch of young cricketers from Bangladesh include all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat. Hossain made his T20I debut for Bangladesh in 2016 but has not featured for them regularly. He was the highest scorer for Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2022 and was also good with the ball.

The Singapore-born Australian batter Tim David will play his maiden T20I World Cup for Australia. A product of Singapore cricket, David made his mark while playing in different T20 global leagues.
